Paul S. Saphier was born in Bergen County, New Jersey and remains in the northern New Jersey area with his wife and children.

 

Dr. Saphier received his Bachelor of Science degree in the renowned Six Year Biomedical Program from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He then received a Medical Degree from Albany Medical College in Albany, NY, gaining recognition for ranking in the top tier of the class.

Dr. Saphier completed his 7-year Neurosurgical Surgery residency at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City and was the inaugural recipient of the Kalmon D. Post resident research award.

 

Upon graduation of residency, Dr. Saphier completed a 2-year fellowship in Interventional Neuroradiology at the University of California, Los Angeles, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of neurovascular disorders such as intracranial aneurysms, vascular malformations (adult & pediatric), stroke and tumor embolization.

Research

Dr. Saphier is actively involved in clinical research and is the principal investigator of various ongoing clinical trials. In addition to being a published author, he has lectured across the country about many diverse neurosurgical procedures with a keen interest in intracranial hemorrhage, minimally invasive aneurysm treatment and stroke.
